Judith Fowler grew up in Lynchburg, attended Sweetbriar and the Darden School of Business at UVA, worked and lived in several countries, and fell in love with wine. In 1996, she moved to New Zealand and purchased 100 acres in Clevedon, way up on the North Island. Her property was recently annexed into Auckland’s city limits. She makes Right Bank Bordeaux – style wines. Outside of Pomerol and St. Émilion, Puriri Hills grows some of the best Merlot grapes on the entire planet. Her wines have been placed on the wine lists of the world’s best restaurants for many years. All wines are sustainable, employing many biodynamic principals.
